SCHEDULE

The power of schedules and to-do lists

The chances of someone succeeding at learning guitar are greater for disciplined people and those who take it seriously.
Overview

Success is written before it happens

Practice schedules, to-do lists, and routines are all part of the process

The majority of people who achieve success are good at following schedules and have a detailed list of things to do. There has been a lot of advice on this topic from them, and I totally understand why.

If we do not have a written list of what needs to be done each day, we tend to forget. Without a reminder of what needs to be done in our daily routine, our mind fills in the blanks by expanding previous tasks or finding entertainment in any way it can.

Whatever leads you closer to achieving your ultimate goal, regardless of whether it is practice or learning new things, should be prioritized and added to your daily schedule somehow.

This is basically where success is written before it happens. Practice routines and to-do lists can make this easy.

This practice routine is one of the easiest to follow while at the same time keeping you on the right track.

Although it might seem that more could be done, the most important factor is consistency overall, not the amount of practice and learning we put into every day.
Practice Routine

Practice Routine

Having a practice routine is one of the keys to success

Practice routines & schedules are powerful

The importance of having a practice schedule is just as important as learning new skills. The ability to keep up with a very well organized schedule can be one of the main reasons why some people succeed and others don’t.

It is not uncommon for people to underestimate this because their current lifestyle is complex. Adding a completely new schedule on top of what already takes place in our daily lives can be a challenging task.

The truth is that without a schedule that reminds us of what needs to be done in order to achieve our goals, everything becomes messy and difficult to manage.

If you follow a well organized practice schedule, you will be able to not only maintain your existing skills but also become better at them, to keep yourself motivated, to give you energy, as well as keep your work and personal life in balance.

To-do Lists

To-do Lists

A to-do list is a very common tool used by most self-made millionaires.

Which is better, a schedule or a to-do list?

Both of them, in fact, but here’s what I found to be the problem. In today’s world, where everything changes constantly and we have almost no control over it, following an hourly schedule is difficult. From my own experience.

Using a to-do list prevents you from feeling overwhelmed by your daily schedule, since it acts as a reminder and helps you stay organized.

I personally cannot follow a time-sensitive schedule for most tasks. For me, a to-do list is sufficient to accomplish all tasks that day.

If you are disciplined and responsible, you might find that a to-do list is the best way to get your work done.

In the course of a day, most of us have a few tasks that must be completed at specific times, which are usually prioritized, like school, work, running a business, taking care of kids, and so on.

Adding new tasks can be really difficult, and most people fail here because they are so overwhelmed with their existing tasks that they find no time for anything else.

Our schedules are packed full of activities, but there are gaps in the day that we are unaware of where we have the chance to add new tasks. This is when a to-do list comes in handy, as they serve as reminders, and as soon as a gap is found, we can add new tasks. When one of these gaps occurs without a to-do list, we simply forget what needs to be done and end up with an empty gap where valuable time is wasted.

Any journey begins with this reality, and it is simply not easy to have a perfect schedule, no matter what others say. Yes, the goal is to be able to set a schedule and stick to it no matter what, but we are taking into consideration the harsh reality of the world we live in and we will achieve greater results just by being realistic.

As we make progress, we will eventually prioritize our new tasks. Don’t worry, this will happen naturally.

Warm-ups

Warm-ups are under training level 2 in the warm-ups section. They are just warm-ups, so don’t spend too much time there.

Practice

This is where we exercise our fingers with the exercises provided in training level 2 of the course. Although the exercises are intense, they may seem boring and repetitive, they will be extremely beneficial.

Are rest days really necessary and why are there so many of them?

When it comes to physical activities, rest days are extremely important. Your muscles should be allowed to recover from a previous workout to progress. If you don’t allow them enough time to rest, they simply won’t fully recover and your progress will stall.

Having said that, it does not mean you should not play guitar on rest days; just don’t make it so intense as your muscles are recovering.

Technique

Having great technique is crucial to achieving great sound quality. Technique exercises and accuracy exercises can enhance your overall technique and sound quality.

Music production

It is here that you should focus the majority of your time while you are trying to become successful. Success doesn’t come from having good skills or practicing a lot, but from making music. Start making songs, beats, lyrics, learn about music composition, recording, etc.

Performance

The goal is to get used to playing full songs in the highest quality. It can be your own songs or covers. By practicing this you develop muscle memory, memorize songs, and develop the habit of not just playing parts of songs.
Simple Practice Routine

If you do not have time to complete the basic or advanced routines, try incorporating the following routine, which is a simple one into your daily schedule.

TASK

This task is to make sure that you understand how important schedules or to-do lists are when it comes to making your journey a success.

Practice routine

Write down a practice routine that is suitable for your lifestyle at the moment, and try to prioritize your guitar learning process so that you can follow it properly.

There are three types of practice routines that are suggested in this course. One is a basic routine, another is an advanced routine, and the third is a simple routine. Pick one of those routines, add it into your current schedule and try to stick to it as much as you can.

To-do list

Make a to-do list and start getting used to having one. To-do lists often serve as a reminder when we struggle to follow a schedule.

If we don’t write down things, we simply forget and our day goes in many directions without knowing where we are going.

By adding a simple reminder to our current lifestyle, we will eventually be able to prioritize the learning of the guitar and integrate it into our current routine.
